We just left the parking lot of Home Depot in South Edmonton Common enroute to Spring Leadership. There are close to 800 people from the Alberta area that are going to take over the Spokane Arena!
Now this is the first time I’ve been on a bus in this capacity. Usually I’ve attended such bus trips with Downhill Riders to go skiing and the booze is flowing, the music is pumping and it’s just a good old time. However this time we won’t be drunk we will be high on positive energy to be honest. We are on a bus full of people that are excited, pumped up, moving forward in life and just ready to soak up some leadership training. It’s quite a feeling when you associate with successful like minded people. It really is. I never thought I would be this excited or this motivated being around people like this. Such a great feeling!
So I gotta ask, what are you doing this weekend to move your life forward?
Sounds exciting. Can I ask what is taught at these meetings? It’s sort of like going to a big football game or something like that.
Leadership is the main focus of this weekend. This evening the keynote was by John Maxwell. Basically his talk was that everyone communicates yet few actually connect. Quite interesting.
There is a lot of motivational components as well. Some teachings on various topics of how to move your business forward, how to stay focused, etc… I’ll post reflections from this evening tomorrow. It’s almost 2am and I need sleep! Thanks for the comments
