While I sit here on the deck in London Ontario enjoying the hot humid air, I’m thinking about back home and how we are in limbo. We’ve sold our downtown condo at a great time as the market is still good (news just said its going to cool off and go down over the next two years) and with that sale we’ve applied that to some stupid debt we had. We are almost 100% debt free now which is pretty amazing. However at this time we are in limbo, living at Lindsay’s parents which is not a bad thing. Lindsay’s parents like me more then they like her so its pretty damn awesome. However we really do want to get into our new place.
July 1st we get the keys for our new top level house that we will rent for the next few years. We will end up saving a lot of money even though we are renting because we’ve streamlined our life and living below our means. It’s only for a short time but will be well worth it once we move to Kelowna, British Columbia in three years. Cannot wait for that!
Limbo I think is a good thing because it really gives you a chance to reflect with where you are in life. Its good to reflect on your life and I think a lot of people are so caught up in the rat race going round and round and round, not popping your head up to realize where you are going in life. Some people don’t do that until it’s to late to make changes and they look back at the last 40 years and say what the heck happened. What was that all about?
So maybe being in Limbo is a good thing. Helps us realize we are on the right path for our life and how we are moving forward and actually achieving some goals in life instead of not doing anything.
On a side note, we are here in London visiting with my grandfather and then off to Belleville for a wedding this weekend. Enjoying the time away but looking forward to getting back as we have a goal to obtain in June that will require some work. Have a picture below of golfing with my grandfather who at 83 is still able to do a full round of 18 holes. Awesome!
