Over the last 10 years I’ve realized we’ve become busier then when we were younger. I often wish we could go back and be carefree again where we could just call a friend for coffee or a movie the night of and it would happen or just head out for the weekend camping with little to no planning. Now we have jobs, families, hobbies, and other stuff going on. Yet if we really break it down and see just how much time we actually do have it’s quite astonishing. Now before all of you go and say well there is this, and this and this and this etc. I’m only giving an example of what I think is an average busy week for a professional single person or married person based on what I’ve seen with friends and family.
|168 Hours in a week||24 hours x 7 days a week|
|50 Hours for work||10 Hours a day. Includes travel and lunch|
|14 Hours for dinner||2 Hours a night. Includes prep, and clean-up|
|7 Hours for personal care||1 Hour a day.|
|56 Hours for sleep||8 Hours a night. (if we are lucky)|
|4 Hours for hobby||2 Hours a night or 4 hours one night. Hockey, Rock Climbing, etc.|
|6 Hours on Weekend||Various activities. Church, Shopping, Events, etc…|
|Total Left Over||31 hours|
So based on this average we really have 31 hours left over in a week to do pretty much whatever. Time cannot and should not be used as an excuse for anything, I find people who are the busiest are actually masters of the calendar. Because they are so busy they can schedule stuff much better then say someone who is say less busy and has more time in front of the boob tube. So if you *think* you are busy try this little exercise and you’ll see you have more time then you think you do.
