Its been quite the weekend thus far here in Portland at World Wide’s Free Enterprise Day. This is just a quick update however the overall message from this year’s FED seems to be focused on the “Why” of building this business. If your in business you should already have that why sorted out, if you don’t you should dig deep and find out exactly why you are building this business. If your going through an interview and qualification process then a why should be discussed before even launching. If your going to launch into business you need to be setup for success and that why is what leads to that. Really that “Why” can be applied to anything you do in life. Why do you do the things you do and are you getting what you want out of those things.
The biggest impact and talk of the night was our upline Founders Emeralds going diamond next FED, who received their $75,000 bonus check for holding a consistent Emerald business. There is money in this thing if you build it right and with the proper parameters. Slap it together and build it without a solid foundation or parameters and that’s why a lot of people who say they were such and such complained they made no money.
A new Diamond crossed stage however we were not sure if it was based on North American business or Korean business. A New Executive Diamond Club and Triple Diamond crossed stage as well, both unsure of what business they were representing. All three live in the US, either way it’s great regardless if it’s here or Korea as the work ethic is the same, the Koreans just have a better work ethic then us lazy North Americans and they understand this business then us thick headed, critical, sceptical, arrogant North Americans.
A picture says a thousand words and this one says Amway + Hard Work + Solid Foundation + Proper Parameters + CORE + a few other things = $75K.
I’m glad to hear of your success. I’ve never said what we are doing is the only way to become successful. I have other friends who are successful in their own right who as well own their own business and are able to spend plenty of time with their children as well. I never look down on people like that.
If you went back into my blog you’ll know that I was quite sceptical of this business and it took me a good 6 months of researching both credible and non-credible resources. I know exactly what we are doing and who we are in business with and don’t follow blindly as you have insinuated with your “gurus” comment. I don’t know, nor care to know who your upline sponsor was but even within World Wide there are non-integrous people who think they can do their own thing or make promises of quick riches, or other falsities. I guess the success principal there for you to ruminate upon is know who your getting into business with.
That’s why this Canadian organization is building such solid businesses because we build a trust and friendship first, interview and qualify people, and fully disclose what it takes to build this business. By the time the person is ready to launch they know exactly what they are getting into and there are no surprises about costs, functions, work ethic required, etc…
I really am glad you’ve found success in whatever it is that you do. I wish you continued success.
Why am I building this business?
I’m building it to continue what we’ve already started with my wife choosing to step away from her job to become a full time mother so that we can raise our kids without daycare. That’s our choice and if people use daycare that’s fine. Just not what we want to do. I want to become a full time dad along side my wife but more importantly we want to be able to help others do the same or help them do whatever it is they want. I’m sure if you dig a little deeper in my blog you’ll see posts around why we are building this business. I may do up another based on this past weekend.
As for what’s changed, well I can only speak to the two years I’ve been in business, I wasn’t involved in the 80′s obviously. However if the message was or is somewhat the same as what it was in the 80′s then why is that such a bad thing? Do success principals change year to year? Has building this business in the last two years for me changed significantly from year to year? No. There is also something to be said for a constant, unified message that does not change. I’ve seen a lot of things repeated from the previous year, and to be honest sometimes people need to hear it again and again. I wasn’t around in the 80′s but last year there wasn’t as much emphasis over the “Why” as there was this year and a lot of the messages, especially seeing the moving on Double Eagle Rubies talk about the why and change was quite inspiring. I guess that there would be the biggest change year over year. The new Double Eagle Rubies always have a different message which is always inspiring.
