IBO’s Making A Difference

Just came across this blog post by the Amway One By One blog around how much money was raised this year by the Easter Seals Drop Zone in Canada.  $25,000 was raised which helps support children and families dealing with disabilities.  Amway has been involved with The Drop Zone events since they started and over the last seven years it’s IBO’s have raised over $400,000 dollars to this great charity.  I know each year we will continue to raise more and this is just the start of one of my dreams to raise larger amounts for great charities such as this.

Seeing Our Donation in Action

Yesterday I had the chance to visit with the Anderson’s on my way back home after traveling for work.  I was able to see first hand how our donation to Erron and her family made an impact.  You may remember Erron was requesting donations for an iPad for her son Elijah who has Autism.  She did a post here called Speechless where she talked about the huge act of selflessness that so many people made to help donate in this great cause. Check it out if you get a chance.

So last night Erron and Kyle showed me the iPad with all the applications they have installed to help Elijah learn and communicate.  I saw first hand the progress Elijah is making with this device and that is amazing.  At first when I saw this donation request from Erron I wasn’t sure how an iPad could help out someone with Autism, and last night I was shown.  The iPad is an amazing piece of technology and it will help more people than I think Steve Jobs ever thought it would.

I’ve mentioned many times before here that we really want to impact people in many ways and one way we want to impact people is through donations and being able to give back to organizations and people exactly like this.  I can tell you with 100% certainty that we would not have been able to donate as much as we wanted to without the business we are in.  We’ve made many more donations this year already compared to any other year ever because of this business.  So I can say Amway and World Wide Dreambuilders was the major reason why we were able to donate to Elijah’s iPad fundraiser and partially why he will be able to learn and communicate better.  That’s amazing.AutismAwareness

Also Lindsay and I donated two beautiful gift baskets to a Saskatoon Autism Gala utilizing products from Amway focusing on the Legacy of Clean and the Artistry line.  Being able to utilize our business to make donations like this is pretty powerful.  It really helps Erron out by getting some silent auction donations in there and we are proud to help out in that way.  This is true World Wide Dreambuilders through and through which is about focusing on others and taking our eyes off ourselves and focusing on others.  I love that we get to associate with a company like that, pretty powerful.

Please check out the link here and if you have it in your heart to donate a few more jewellery pieces from Erron so that she can donate the next iPad they get to another deserving autistic child that would be amazing.  I think she’s 15 away and that’s SO close to be able to touch another life.

Easter Seals Drop Zone–UPDATE!

DropZone

Hey guys and gals, just wanted to give an update with where I am with the Easter Seals Donations.

So far we have $720 raised for the Easter Seals charity.  That’s awesome and thank you so much for the donations thus far.  We still have a little ways to go until we reach that $2,000 goal!  Please pass this onto anyone that you feel would want to make a donation to a great cause.

You can donate to me on my personal page. http://my.e2rm.com/personalPage.aspx?SID=2692229

Also, you can donate via cash if you do not want to donate online.  Please leave a message and we can get together and I can pick up that cash for your donation.

Thanks again!

Donations

“Hey everyone, I don’t often email or promote charities or foundations but this year I’d like to step up a donation that we make every year to Easter Seals.  Easter Seals is an organization that helps kids with disabilities and is dedicated to fully enhancing the quality of life, self-esteem and self-determination of those kids.  This is an amazing charity and as I said we’d like to donate more and as a consequence of that donation, if we reach the $1,500 level (our goal this year is $2,000) I will be dressing in a superhero costume that we will make and rappelling down the Sutton Place Hotel downtown Edmonton.

Deadline is September 7th the day of the event.

If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Good Luck! Lets BEAT that $2,000 GOAL!”
