On Monday Amway Canada received the “Making a Difference Award from the Direct Sellers Association of Canada. Now Amway gets a lot of awards and recognition for the work they do in many areas of the world however I wanted to highlight this one because its actually directly related to the Easter Seals Drop Zone fundraising that I am doing.
“The “Making a Difference” award is for the efforts in support of Easter Seals Canada, as part of the Amway One By One Campaign for Children. The award is bestowed upon a company that has made a profound difference in communities across Canada, and the selection is based upon the company’s level of involvement in the community, its effort relative to its size, and the company’s vision and motivation.
Amway Canada has been a proud sponsor of the Easter Seals Drop Zone since its inception. Drop Zone events – held in 12 cities across the country – allow “everyday superheroes” to raise funds for the privilege to rappel down some of Canada’s tallest buildings. Over the past five years, Amway Canada and its independent business owners have raised over $350,000 for Easter Seals Canada. The funds remain in the communities from which they’re raised and help support children and families with disabilities and special needs.”
This award is pretty cool as its this amazing company (Amway) that supports the Easter Seals which is also the same organization I’ve raised almost $2,000 dollars for this year for enhancing the quality of life of Albertans with disabilities and special needs. I’m glad we are able to share in the same vision of Amway of helping others as that’s honestly where our hearts are at and why we love doing what we do with our business.

Thank you to those that have donated so far, I appreciate your donation no matter how big or small. Every little bit helps.
As for Easter Seals I’ve reached a milestone of just over $1,500 or 43% of my goal. It significant because I can now take part in the actual Drop Zone where I’ll rappel down the Sutton Place hotel in Edmonton. I’m VERY excited to have reached this milestone however we are still just under $2,000 from raising the goal of $3,500. I’ve put out a challenge to my whopping 200 friends on Facebook if they could just bag a lunch one day, or maybe cut out 3-4 Starbucks coffee’s one month, they could donate $20 dollars each which would raise $4,000 dollars. If you reading this wanted to jump on that challenge all the power to you. The power of numbers working right there! To sum it up, in 2 weeks we’ve been able to raise $1,500, that’s pretty cool. If anyone has suggestions on how to raise money or has done something like this I’m all ears.
