Family Reunion Conclusion

So the Collin’s (Lindsay’s Family) reunion has come and gone for another year.  I always get a little sad inside when all the family leaves because I love hanging around and having fun with family.  I’m really looking forward to next year because not only will there be Lindsay’s family reunion but my dad’s side of the family has their every 3 year reunion out in Ontario. 

The Collin’s reunion next year will be on the BC coast in a place called Gibsons.  To be honest I’ve not spent much time outside of Vancouver on the coast so it should be pretty good.  I think it will be a bit better of a reunion because the last two reunions have just been at someone’s house and while people come it’s a lot easier to leave early, or head to your house for the night instead of having those great late night talks or what not with family you don’t see often.  I’ll be honest we did leave early last night, well not THAT early, but earlier then if we were at a resort type of place like where we are going next year in Gibsons. (http://www.gibsons.ca/) Looks like a pretty nice town.

The Bankley reunion next year will be in Gananoque Ontario which I think I’ve been to long time ago.  It’s the gateway to 1000 islands I think and is pretty beautiful with all the islands.  Looking forward to seeing the family out there as some I’ve not seen since the reunion we had two summers ago.  Its the one thing I hate with the family out in Ontario is that we don’t get to see them very often.  I feel as if we miss so much when we are not able to see them as much as we’d like to.  Something we plan on changing as we continue to build this business.

Family is one of the highest goals that we have with this business and we plan on blessing a lot of people with it and being able to see more of our extended family.  Family is worth fighting for, and worth doing whatever it takes to see them more.

Lindsay’s Family Reunion

This weekend is Lindsay’s families annual Family Reunion (is that even proper grammar? lol).  I always love Family reunions because getting together with family is important.  It’s not often we get to see each other, in fact it’s almost every year.  There is the odd occasion that we see them outside the reunions but having that once a year is minimum and all families should do that.

I know there are a lot of people out there that just hate family reunions because they don’t like each other or there is bad blood or whatever the issue is.  I feel bad for those families and it’s reasons like that that I try to work extra hard and maintaining family relationships.  When everything hits the fan who do you have left to talk with, associate with? Family.

So tonight is usually where everyone settles in and catches up has a few drinks and so far the weather is looking perfect for it.  Tomorrow the uncles and cousins head out for a round of golf and the ladies, well I don’t know what they do but they do something.  Later that night we have a good meal and more great family time.   Sunday there is a good breakfast and for some a cure of any hangovers from the night before.  After some good food people head on their way home and life continues for another year.
