Our Next Goal – My Freedom

Today Lindsay experienced her first Monday where she didn’t have to go into work for money.  She was pretty pumped to not have to wake up to the alarm clock.  She really did plan her day today and had a great day doing the things she loved and starting the P90X program.  I’m looking forward to the nutrition portion and some of the fitness part.  I plan on doing some more running along side Lindsay’s getting into shape.  A great side benefit of her freedom! :)

So what’s next? My Freedom, I cannot wait to join my wife so that both of us do not have to wake up to some stupid alarm clock.  It’s also I think when people will actually look at us and take us serious that you can actually be successful in this business.  I would never ever put our family in jeopardy and when the time comes to make that decision to step away from my job you better believe I’ll be counselling, thinking about it and making my own decision that’s best for our family.  It will be a great decision and one we plan on making Late Fall next year.  We will be working hard towards that and 2011 will be an amazing amazing year.

I can vividly imagine my freedom day right down to the last details.  What’s awesome about that is we will have at least one child by then and I’ll also be home to spend time with him/her which is one of my biggest goals is to be around with my kids and see every moment of their lives.  Its a huge goal and not one many parents can say and it’s worth fighting for.  I’ve seen a glimpse of that kind of family with Kyle and Erron where Kyle is a professor for the UofS and he gets a lot of time off because of the school season.  He is an amazing family man and is one father I look up to outside of my family.  I think everyone could learn a few things from the Andersons.  So kudo’s to you guys for raising the family you do.

I want to have that great family life, like I said it’s important to me, it’s worth the fight and we will make it happen.  Step 1 was to get Lindsay free, and we’ve been able to do that with this business and the association. Step 2 is to get me free so that we can be together and raise an awesome family.

FREEEEEEEEDOM!  That’s for you Cliff, in reference to your latest blog post (http://www.peerpressureworks.com/2010/08/29/tales-of-jake-feat-kelly-harll/).

Lindsay Now Free

Today we freed Lindsay from her J.O.B where she no longer has to go back to work for another man.  She now has the freedom of choice to do what she wants. Since we made the decision 6 weeks ago it’s been a long 6 weeks but a great 6 weeks of excitement.

While some people may not understand how a person at the age of 24 could retire, it really doesn’t matter.  We’ve made it happen.  Its making smart choices, getting out of debt, and creating an ongoing residual income on the side.  Yes we’ve done all of those things and because of it we’ve been able to free my wife so that she can live a life of choice instead of a life of being told what to do during those 8-9-10 hours a day.

It’s been a pretty amazing day today.  We freed Lindsay at 2pm, showed up at her work and took her out of there.  Pretty much took maybe less than 5 minutes, didn’t want to spend anymore time in there then we had to.  We then headed for lunch with our coaches and mentors and a team member that wasn’t working today.  I don’t think it’s really set in for Lindsay right now because it just feels like a Friday where the weekend is here.  Even come Monday it will sink in only a little bit.  It will be a month before she really realizes what is going on and that she is free!

I’m really excited to start this new chapter in our life.  It’s going to be a great year coming up and we are speaking my freedom late Fall 2011 when we hit Double Eagle Ruby.  That’s the next goal and that’s when the big retirement party will happen.  When I retire is when it will really sink in for some people because there will be no more J.O.B. income, the income will be 100% Amway Global and that will be the largest impact.  This really does work and we’ve done it with integrity and without compromising our values or being “those Amway people”.  I’m pretty proud of the accomplishments we’ve made so far despite me being so negative at the start to the point we almost never did this.  I’m glad I could take my head out of my arse and actually make a educated decision.

To the next chapter…

August 27th – Freedom Day For My Wife

freedom I touched on this date a few weeks ago but really wanted to give it a full blog entry.  August 27th my wife will be stepping away from her job as she now has the choice of if she wants to work or not.  Don’t get me wrong I have no problem with women pursuing a career or working, etc… this has nothing to do with that. What this has to do with is she now has the choice of if she wants to work for someone else’s dream or her own.  She obviously chooses to take the path of freedom and has been able to buy back 50 hours of her life.

We’ve been able to make this happen because of the side business we’ve been building, streamlining our life, and being debt free (almost).  I say almost because at the end of August all we will have left since November of 2009 is our vehicle which will be paid out by the end of the year.  Being debt free or having the shackles taken off gives you so many more options that are not available to people that are in debt.  As well our business IS making a steady income even with the costs to run it which are very minor compared to traditional business.

So what really does this mean?  Well it means that Lindsay can actually live a lot less stressed life.  If you lived with her the last 4-5 months you’d understand just how much stress she’s been under in her job and how much shit she takes working in the insurance and investment industry.  That’s a bunch of crap!  But as with most of us we are forced to go to work to chase that paycheque because we cannot live without it.  Now since she doesn’t have to show up to a job we can have a much less stressed pregnancy which we plan to start this fall.  I know so many people that are forced to work right up to weeks before their pregnancy and are stressed to the max.  I work with one and she is stressed to the max!  NOT good for the pregnancy for sure.  We won’t have to deal with that ever again.

Another great benefit that I’m really looking forward to is that we can have much better cooked meals, we can actually eat healthy instead of having “Kitchen Delight” (KD) or some other crappy food that is just slammed together.  80% of staying in shape has to do with what you eat and what you put into your body.  I for one am looking forward to living a much healthier life.  Continuing with the healthier lifestyle, Lindsay will be able to pick up her Yoga practice which she gave up for a year so that she could step away from work.  While that may have seemed pretty steep it was well worth it because now instead of doing Yoga before or after work, she can do it anytime during the day when she feels like it.  I’m excited for her to pick up something that she enjoys so much.

It’s funny because some people will say well what are you going to do with your time during the day or you’ll be bored, etc… Well if you think of all the stuff you have to do before or after work and all the things you wished you could have done, that is more then enough to fill a day.  Trust me Lindsay will NOT be bored by not having a job during the day.

Lastly, what about that side business.  It will continue just as it does now, part time in the evenings just as it is now.  Lindsay will be able to take some stress off of me for the things I have to get ready for when I get home from work. I can now actually focus on the more important things and be able to build this business a bit less stressed from my perspective.  Being less stressed will make investing time into people that much more effective and rewarding.

So August 27th at some point after lunch I will be going into her work and free’ing her along with some of our team members and our amazing coaches and mentors.  It will be a great day where she will never have to look back again.  Obviously I’ll have a post the day after however it will take a few months for it to really sink in for Lindsay.  It will just feel like holidays or a vacation however this will be a VERY long holiday.  Love you LB, it’s going to be an amazing future!
