Quick Post–Momentum

I’ve really not written much about business and to be honest we have a lot momentum going on where we are out living life on purpose and the funny by product of that is people are attracted to that.  When you are debt free, have no real stressors in life, it’s amazing how people want to get around that.  We are just enjoying ourselves and truly enjoying our business as we are getting to meet a lot of new people in personal width and depth.  This business really is like no other where we put others first before ourselves.

Having Fun Building Our Business

lik-m-aid-fun-dip There was a message that came out on our communication system from our upline Double Diamond asking our leaders in this Edmonton market why we are growing and what we are doing that is so “special”.  First what we are doing is nothing special and there are no huge secrets.  What really came across from this message is the fun that we have building this business.  I took a look back at some of the things we’ve done, people we’ve met and all the other things in between and I can honestly say that’s probably a large reason to our own success as well.  We genuinely LOVE and have FUN with what we do because we are never limited to what we can and cannot do. 

When we are showing the plan, or attending events we create a fun atmosphere and why not?  It honestly is probably one of the key factors with our success and the rest of the success of our team.  I’m uplifted when getting around the people on our team or the people on other teams at the larger events.  I can say that sometimes I’m more uplifted in these events then some of the non-business events or parties that I attend.  There are just so many negative people going nowhere that try and make other people feel the same as them where you ask yourself what the heck is your problem.  Keep your problems to yourself.

So we have a ball with everything we do.  Currently we are putting together a few marketing events and so many ideas for making it successful are coming through our minds.  Our team members are excited and pumped to put together a great event and that in turn just helps fuel our excitement.  I’ve never really been an event planner and helping my wife put together this new event is pretty sweet.  I’ve taken some of my technology knowledge and put that into some great ideas for what we can do.  It will be a first class event and best of all its going to be fun.

Taking a look around this market and the events we’ve attended i can see exactly why we are growing, and it’s the fun everyone has.  Sure there are some ups and downs, and EVERY business has them but it’s the attitude you have to move forward and push through them.  However if you enjoy what your doing then it really doesn’t matter at all now does it.  I’m only speaking from our own experience and we love what we do and all the aspects of it.  It’s one of the major reasons why this market is the fastest growing market in all of North America. 

Not Much to Say

I guess for the first time in this Summer Blogging Challenge I really don’t have anything profound to say,  anything really interesting to say.  We are heading out tonight to have dinner with Vlad and Kim, cannot remember the last time we did that, it’s been awhile for sure.  I’m excited to understand what exactly these phone calls are about, RCMP conversations and vacation stuff they’ve done.lossofwords

We are pretty busy right now with all things.  I’m busy at work trying to solidify some budget work and this week is my “on-call” week or “period” as Lindsay likes to call it.  I cannot wait to NOT be a slave to my Blackberry that’s for sure.  More than likely only one more year with how things are going in our business.  We are also preparing for Lindsay’s freedom day, just trying to get some details sorted out for that for when we free her from her job.  Won’t say much more about it cause she reads this blog ;)

Lastly we are busy investing time into people and building up existing relationships and new ones.  I think this is a great “being busy” because I love working with people and what’s even better I like helping them become successful which is what we’ve done with all our team members.  They are all kicking butt and have amazing qualities about them that make them all unique.  Probably the best part I love about what we do.

Being Servants

Today was a pretty awesome day because we were able to meet up with a lady my mom has been talking with at the Shoppers Drug Mart in Kamloops about getting some replacement handles and knobs for her Queen Cookware that had been passed down to her by her parents. 

This lady was given the Queen Cookware from Amway Global 23 years ago and she is STILL using it.  She said the cookware it’s self is spotless and looks like brand new the only problem is because of how long it’s been used some of the handles are wearing and need to be replaced.  That’s where we come in.  We went and visited her at Shoppers this afternoon and with my iPod Touch I was able to create her an order right then and there with the replacement handles.  How awesome is that.  She was so excited and impressed we could do everything from the iPod.  If I had an iPhone I could have processed her order right then and there but I have a Blackberry that is paid for and I’m not going to pay for an iPhone right now.  Either way I got home to my parents and was able to create her a new customer account and then submit her order.  She was a few dollars short of free shipping so we threw in a few promotional products to say thanks for the opportunity to serve her. 

Now that just goes to show you that people love the products even 20+ years later and most of all shows how you can really serve your customers.  Do we expect her to be a customer that orders every month? Probably not but we’ve shown her the awesome customer service that we provide to our clients and threw in a few extra’s for the order.

This business really is fun. We get to meet a lot of new people, we get to serve people where there is a need or want and we get to feel good by giving great customer service that you cannot get elsewhere.

Love Doing “Grand Openings”

I really love doing Grand Openings for our newest team members.  Its the moment when your retail store really starts. It’s like that red ribbon cutting you see when people open up a new business or a new road.  What I really enjoy is getting to know the people our team members invite and then giving them a little insight as to why they’ve chosen an online store.  Obviously there is much more behind the scenes and the webstore is just the 5% of what we do.

What I love about the retail side of our business is we really get to promote amazing products that fill the needs of our clients.  We are not sales people by any means.  Trust me I’m the worst salesman ever.  What I do is just listen to what people say every day and try to fill their need with great products that we have.  That’s what’s awesome with the Grand Openings, we get to show clients a lot of our core products and just set the stage for all the things we have to offer.  We also do a lot of sampling at the Grand Opening which allows the clients to taste, touch and smell the products, and let me tell you once people sample the “Chocolate Nut Roll Energy Bar” they’re hooked! haha right Chris?

Really this part of what we do should be fun!  Serving people and giving them awesome customer service is what sets us apart from all others.  Not to mention you can get this stuff shipped right to your door for free, on orders over $75.00.  Sure beats packing the kids, heading to Costco, sifting through that zoo, waiting in line and then coming back home and you spent more then you wanted to.  That’s what Ditto is for, but that’s another blog entry for a later date :)
