Ribbon Gift Program

KidsRibbon Okay so I had to have one self promoting blog entry in this year’s Summer Blogging Contest.  The ONLY reason why it’s today and why I’m doing it is because today the Ribbon Gift program has been refreshed with a modern look and feel and not only that all the gift collections were updated with new products.  Lastly there are three new gift collections:

  • Splendid – A Gift anyone will find divine!
  • Eco-Logical – A smart gift to celebrate the planet we live on.
  • Kaleidoscope – A super fun gift for kids ages 4-12.

This program is a pretty sweet program and very unique to what I’ve seen for gift cards.  It starts out by you picking a gift collection that suits your needs or budget for your recipient.  The recipient is given the choice of 20-30 gifts per collection that has all kinds of different gifts for all kinds.  Once the gift is chosen it is delivered free right to their door.  When they open the gift they end up thinking about you again and the thought you put into it.  All gifts have a 180-day satisfaction guarantee no matter what.  Don’t like it, send it back and pick something else!  The best thing about this program is it’s the perfect gift for that person that has it all because it gives THEM the choice.

One other thing about this program that has been very successful for us is marketing this to realtors and corporate clients.  Realtors usually end up leaving a gift and a card when they either sell a home or get a referral, so why not leave a gift card where the recipient gets to choose instead of the realtor giving a gift that they probably don’t want.  Corporate clients use this for incentive programs or anniversary dates for their employees.  Same idea, they pick a value and the recipient gets to pick from that collection.  Brilliant idea and like I said very successful.

We definitely love to earn people’s business and are never pushy with anything that we have.  We want to give the best customer service and serve people with the needs they have. If your interested in this or anything all you have to do is contact us, maybe see this need fitting in somewhere else then let us know and we will incentivise you with a gift card for your efforts.

I promise the rest of the month no more self promoting :)

Santas Anonymous – Complete!

Well we completed delivering gifts to 5 families who are either less fortunate, having a hard time, or just need that extra help this time of year.  It honestly felt really good to be giving back to our city and helping out the people in need.  You see a different side of people when they are sitting there with their door open for you waiting for you to deliver their gifts.  This one family were just so happy to see us and the kids were jumping up and down when me and Kerry delivered the gifts.  It honestly was a heart warming experience and I wish I had more time to be able to deliver more gifts to see more of that.  I know next year we will show up earlier and deliver a lot more gifts and I am going to get A LOT more people to help us out.

When we did arrive the line-up to get into Santas Anonymous was CRAZY!  SO many people with big hearts showed up to help deliver all the toys.  I’ve attached a picture at the bottom that shows just how big that line up was.  The red star was where the warehouse was with all the toys and the line went all the way down to Kingsway Ave almost.  THAT’s CRAZY!  That’s AWESOME!  I was thinking there would not be any toys left for us to deliver, but I was sure surprised when I walked into the warehouse and saw thousands of bags for us to deliver.

It really feels good when you can contribute and for me and my wife it helps us understand why we are building this business.  Not just because of the money but because it will free up our time so that we can help give back when there are events like this.  Why do you think these events happen on the weekend?  Because everyone is WORKING.  I don’t want to be everyone! I want to be free to help people when needed and free so that I can give my own family the time it deserves.

Again like I said in my last post what are you doing this Christmas season to help the less fortunate?  What are you going to do next year to help give back?

Sleigh ReadySleigh Ready for Deliveries!

Thanks Shelley for organizing this event and all the people who came out and helped.  It was a pleasure meeting all of you.  Thanks Kerry and Shane for driving, it was awesome getting to know you!

Santas Anonymous – Giving Back

SantasAnonymous

In about an hour we will be heading out to meeting some friends and give back to the less fortunate.  This will be my first time doing the Santas Anonymous and I’m excited to do it.  Giving back is such an important thing and everyone should do something during the year to give back to your community, your city or some other cause.

In the next few years I would love to do something more and as our business grows we are going to have the means to do just that.  I don’t mean give 50 or 100 bucks to a charity and get a tax receipt, I mean really help out in a big way.  For example with Santas Anonymous maybe I buy a $20-$40 dollar gift certificate to all volunteers who are driving today so they don’t have to worry about the cost of gas.   That’s just an idea, maybe we could do something more.

What are you doing this holiday season to give back?  What are you planning to do next year to give back?

I’ll post how the experience was later today or tomorrow!

Cafe Christmas Marketing Event

Lots of People Christmas ShoppingWow, we just had a Christmas Marketing evening this evening, well yesterday night as I write this at 1:15am.  We had 460 people turn out for the Edmonton Christmas Event.  We had different boths, Nutrilite, Legacy of Clean, an Artistry Facial Centre, and a bunch of other booths showing the type of products we have, the Ribbon Gift Cards and so so much more.

It’s so awesome to see the traction building here in Edmonton.  A lot of people came out to see that we are not a bunch of weird people, we are not a cult, we have great products that have a great price and are BETTER then what you can get from all those other stores you have to wait in line at.  Once people actually see that we are just selling products that you buy anyway they totally get it.  A lot of the people have already seen the plan or maybe they are just shopping for Christmas gifts, but they just get it.  They realize the time saved by not having to get in a car, drive down to the store, sift through all the rows of product, wait in line, and then have to drive home.  They can get all these awesome products right from the comfort of their living room.

One quick think about the market here in Edmonton, Brad Duncan mentioned when he was here a few weeks ago that he’s not seen the World Wide Dreambuilder / Amway Global business take shape as it is here.  It’s the hard work and qualification process that is really pumping out solid teams with hardly anyone backing out or quitting.  We don’t want 98%’ers, we want the 2%’ers, the winners, the people who have a need, want and desire in life to make something for themselves.

I just have to say tonight was such a great event put on by the Wagners they are such great people, great coaches and great mentors.  Showing us this business really does work!
