Home From Some Rest, Pumped for the Month

So we are back from Kamloops after a well deserved break from the every day life that is Edmonton.  We did do a bit of business while in Kamloops but not enough to really hamper on the relaxing.  One thing that we did keep up was being core while being away.  Personally we feel being core is good for our business as we have seen first hand the results, despite what others may think. It is our personal choice to be core.

I am just fired up and ready for the month of April.  Most of all I am pumped to see the growth in our team.  They are already off to a great start and we could not be more proud.  I’m excited to invest our time into them each month and help setup some personal goals they may have and some business goals as well.  It will also be good to get on the board by showing the business plan,  It’s where you finally get to take control of all aspects of your business and really put it into high gear.

Don’t have much more to write other then I’m pumped and excited.  Its a good feeling… what gets you excited and pumped up?

Being Servants

Today was a pretty awesome day because we were able to meet up with a lady my mom has been talking with at the Shoppers Drug Mart in Kamloops about getting some replacement handles and knobs for her Queen Cookware that had been passed down to her by her parents. 

This lady was given the Queen Cookware from Amway Global 23 years ago and she is STILL using it.  She said the cookware it’s self is spotless and looks like brand new the only problem is because of how long it’s been used some of the handles are wearing and need to be replaced.  That’s where we come in.  We went and visited her at Shoppers this afternoon and with my iPod Touch I was able to create her an order right then and there with the replacement handles.  How awesome is that.  She was so excited and impressed we could do everything from the iPod.  If I had an iPhone I could have processed her order right then and there but I have a Blackberry that is paid for and I’m not going to pay for an iPhone right now.  Either way I got home to my parents and was able to create her a new customer account and then submit her order.  She was a few dollars short of free shipping so we threw in a few promotional products to say thanks for the opportunity to serve her. 

Now that just goes to show you that people love the products even 20+ years later and most of all shows how you can really serve your customers.  Do we expect her to be a customer that orders every month? Probably not but we’ve shown her the awesome customer service that we provide to our clients and threw in a few extra’s for the order.

This business really is fun. We get to meet a lot of new people, we get to serve people where there is a need or want and we get to feel good by giving great customer service that you cannot get elsewhere.

Off to Kamloops

Tomorrow we leave to Kamloops for 5 days to visit my parents and just get out of the city.  At the same time we are looking forward to meeting some new people in the Kamloops region and who knows maybe someone who is looking for an opportunity.  I’d love to get business in Kamloops and bring the awesome association we have to the Kamloops area.  World Wide Dreambuilders teaches that we just get to know new people with no motive behind it.  The Guthrie’s are about impacting people in a positive way. 

We already have a meeting setup with a lady my mom ran into at the local Shoppers Drug Mart that she’s looking to replace some handles on some cookware that her parents bought a long time ago from Amway Global.  She said her parents LOVE the products but the handles have worn out and needs new ones.  To my surprise we have spare handles on our store! LOL so we are able to serve this lady and get her new handles.  So who knows, maybe something good will come of that, if not at least we were able to serve her. 

However the biggest reason we are going out there is to see my parents and to get away and relax.  Have some “margin” days as we call it.  We will still be core, but our main focus will be visiting and spending some quality time with my parents who I don’t get to see very often since they moved out there.  Looking forward to some hiking, some sleeping in, good coffee conversation and possibly letting my parents know more about what we do.  They kind of have an idea but they don’t really know and they are interested to hear what the 95% of what we do is.  They just see the 5% of what we do as our clients and are really good at that :) Thanks MOM!  But they don’t fully understand the 95% of what we do and I’m excited to let them know.

Anyway I’ll maybe do a blog post on Sunday after we’ve been there a few days.  Have a great Easter Weekend wherever you are or whatever you are doing!
